Canadian stock market closed lower; S&P/TSX composite in

The Canadian stock market was lower on Thursday, with falling sectors such as energy, consumer goods and health care leading the stock index lower.
At the close in Toronto, Canada, the Toronto S&P/TSX Composite Index fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the S&P/TSX Composite Index in Toronto, Canada, were Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd (TO:KL), which rose 8.43% (3.710 points) to trade at 47.720 at the close. At the same time, Torex Gold Resources Inc (TO:TXG) rose 7.33% (1.090 points) to close at 15.970; Osisko Gold Ro (TO:OR) rose 6.29% (0.87 points) and closed at 14.70.
The weakest performer was Uni-Select Inc. (TO:UNS), which rose 11.41% (1.70 points) and closed at 13.20. Yam Gold (TO:IMG) fell 5.89% (0.290 points) to close at 4.630; Finning International (TO:FTT) closed down 4.98% (1.30 points) at 24.79.
The 575 stocks on the Toronto Stock Exchange fell, surpassing the number of high-end stocks – 488, while 122 stocks were unchanged and were basically unchanged.

(TO:UNS) plunged to a three-year low, down 11.41% (1.70 points) to close at 13.20. Shares of Torex Gold Resources Inc (TO:TXG) soared to a one-year high, rising 7.33% (1.090 points) to close at 15.970. Shares in Osisko Gold Ro (TO:OR) rose to a one-year high, rising 6.29% (0.87 points) to close at 14.70.
The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite Index options in Toronto, Canada, rose 2.19% to13.54.
